I neither say that this people thought that Croatia was fascistic or that ARK are making Croatia more fascistic than it is, it is only explaining why a foreigner like me is doing information talks for other foreigners like me. I know their culture and political background, that's why. Anyway walking to Vesna's house or rather taking the tram to her house, but at the square of the big Croats everybody was asked to leave the tram, it wouldn't go further in the direction of the stadion and I had the walk the rest. Anyway from the stadion thousand and thousand of youngsters returned, on the faces you could read it already Croatia (Dynamo) has lost the cup, since the match was the last in a series of three of the cup final (not the competition). And yes when I saw later some Hajduk fans it was clear Hajduk beaten Croatia, Dalmatia (Split) beats Zagreb. I think that Tudjman and all the other officials who went to see it had a very bad evening. Anyway the Torcidas in Zagreb had a great evening. The result was 2-1 for Croatia, but Hajduk won the other matches and won the cup. Tudjman had to hurry to get to the football match, since he had today long meetings with the two Peace mediators. I don't know what they discussed, but it is clear that there is an official and even effective unofficial boycott is hanging in the air against Croatia. I don't know if the both peace freaks have told that to Tudjman, but some other minister told it on television last evening. The reason is the Croatian involvement in Herceg Bosna, pardon, Hercegovina. More and more messages of killed and disappear aid workers in BiH, Weeks nobody of the foreign community is killed and than at least 5 or maybe more in a few days, beside the three Italians, from which the found a body today, also 2 Danish aid working were killed during an attack at their UNHCR convoy. The spokesperson of UNCHR said "Just one of those days when you realise that we all put our lives on the line in BiH" and still some other convoys are missing. The pictures and news from the dead of the three aid workers from Italy hit the Italians hard, according the news we saw here. I heard a Hercules aeroplane coming over, it probably not on his way to Sarajevo, since the airbridge is stopped again for at least 24 hours after an attack on an Italian crew, nobody killed, some light wounds. All this stories are of course bed time stories if you think of what happened at that children football play in Dobrinja, which was shelled at that moment, 2 grenades killing 12 persons. The UNPROFOR specialist were laying on the football place the whole day today looking at the craters and according to them the grenades should have come from Serb held positions. Also room today, or rather yesterday for the killing of the Franciscans by the Partisan forces just in the last part of the second world war in Siroki Brijeg. A priest from there, in the Herceg-Bosna studio in Siroki Brijeg, explained what happen in those days. Listening to the sound of his voice I recognize the same type of speaking as what come out of the loudspeakers in Medjugorje every evening at 7 o'clock, a characteristic way from speaking and preaching. The last violence of today came from the picture from Beograd of yesterday. How the police was handling the spontanic demonstration there the other day. According the news 121 people are arrested, Drasgovic is in hospital and god knows what happened more, our friends from Beograd have been writing about it. It is also interesting to know how the political scene is now in Beograd since Milosovic send his crown prince home and the half of the opposition is kicked into hospital, it seems from here. Last year at this days there were elections and the actions of the students, are we getting a hot start of the summer in Beograd again. Not yet in war, but who knows is Macedonia. The famous SKY reporter, life from Beograd and Skopje in one day it seems had a report on the Macedonia special police force. The story how they are building up their army is a lot like the success story of the Croatian Army. First you build up a strong special police forces, train them in all things soldiers need to know and are normally not teach to policeman and when the war starts you rename it in army. If I should choice a song text for today there is actual only one song which would neutralise it all, namely "Always look up on the bright side of life......". Bok I Mir from Zagreb, Wam P.S. I was wondering if that USAmerican television team comes if we should not pack our computer in sandbags and drop some grenade shell is the basement, and getting a bullet free jacket or so, or maybe I will wear one of my camouflage uniforms which I have collected, with for the change a blue helmet. Otherwise the whole thing will be so doll, I will ask Burkie when he goes to Citluk to tape some machine gun fire and so to play on the background, the church bells wouldn't have the real war impact you know. ------------------------------------------------------ Zagreb Diary can be found on a lot of different electronic networks, it is copyright free and can be ported to any network or other means of communication you like, but please drop my a line, you can reach by sending a message to wam@zamir-zg.comlink.de or wam@zamir-zg.comlink.apc.org.
