In that period it snowed also and than the first names came, and than only the number of police agents which had been killed. He says when he climbs on the stairs after I had asked him why he and Vesna told be that it soon should start to snow. Simple was the other answer, you smell it in the air, that's is normal everybody said it. Only not the people from the weather report, they are scientists and they don't smell anything. Angry people on the television, why had the weather forecast yesterday didn't say anything about the snow last night. Just before we went to bed in Pakrac, it started to snow and in the fresh new snow we walked from the house to the bus to get my sleeping bag, when I arrived this morning it was a complete new white Pakrac. I walked with the Peace Circus through a town which in know a bit by now, but with was totally new for me in this colour. The UNPROFOR and UNCIVPOL are now in beautiful camouflage in their white cars, maybe they should paint them black, since they really look now as a normal army in winter times. In the beginning of the afternoon I went with David and Sophy in the car which Jojo left here back to Zagreb. We drove through a beautiful snow landscape, even in Gay the reality was suddenly so less violent as it normally looks. On all the destroyed houses and farms lay a nice white cover. Everything suddenly has the same colour and a snow layer camouflage even the holes in the roof (if a house still has a roof that is). During the night about 20 cm of snow fall in the Northern part of Croatia, not in Mostar I heard from a friend who called from there (I didn't dare to ask him about the bridge). Via the bridge, since Ivo Skoric, the friend, I never met, in New York who wrote an emotional story about it on Email. And a small detour about the film about the battle for the wounded, which was a famous battle near Mostar in the last World War. And of course football, since some way or another every talk with Ben will have at least a part of football in it. This time the fact that they, the Torcida's and the Bad Blue Boys were invited for a television discussion and the BBB refuse to come since they boycott HTV, the director said that they were hooligans and street fighters and so on. The BBB's still refuse to call Dynamo Croatia (they refuse to shout CRO-ATIA in the football stadiums) since they claim that Zagreb's Dynamo wasn't like the other Dynamo's in Eastern Europe. Dynamo was not an elite club of the army or the secret police, like in Berlin or Bucharest, but a normal worker club, in their minds Hajduk was special club, they had a red star in their symbol and Dynamo the Croatian checkerboard. Since yesterday evening the talk of the town is however the discussion about abortion yesterday evening on television. Our famous priest was in a vocal dual with the women of Kareta. I was in Pakrac when it was broadcasted so I didn't saw it. In Pakrac we don't watch television or only MTV in Skorpija, but the world itself is interesting enough. Like watching the first snow coming down in the garden of our house. Although at that moment my thoughts were more with the people in the tents and the forests in BiH, a little happy when I found out that it only snowed in the north and that in Mostar the temperature was still far over the zero degrees. Ben's role in the studio discussion was to explain the reason why 50.000 Torcida's shouted at Tudjman when he came to the match against his favourite club Dynamo. That had never happened before, in Tito's time you didn't even thought about it, shouting at the President, in the time that he, the Old Men dead, we were fighting with the police in the streets in Amsterdam against the crowning of the new Queen. And we shouted with over 1 million people at our Minister-President during the big peace marches against the new cruise missiles in western Europe. But here shouting at the symbol of the new state, that is nearly considered as a crime against the nation in some circles, Tudjman is Croatia for them, the whole of Hercegovina came to see him when he visit them some months back. No explaining on HTV logically why 50.000 Dalmatian football fans are angry since they have for months no electricity is not the easiest things to do. Outside the world is still beautiful the pine trees next to Vesna's window have a nice Christmas dress. Some times you hear a car slipping by in the snow, colouring the city slowly brown. In Pakrac you could see today precisely which road were safe to take, for the first time the colourful reality changed in a rhythm of brown lines in the snow, those spots without traffic stayed white. Easy to show people which areas are safe and which better can't be used. Snow is early this year, very early. The movie recensist of Croatia television, by the way, was short and power full about the new Croatian war file, "about the film we can't say anything".
