The baby called Vladimir Zirinovski. It seems that when Milosevic was patient of Karadzic, the last one also made a sex change operation. According the picture mother Slobodan Milosevic is doing fine and the baby Zivota Panic can already sit straight and build houses with duplo from Lego. That was the biggest news beside of course some jokes on the removal of Mate Boban from the position as president of Herceg-Bosna (HVO), for months this replacement was hanging in the air so it didn't came so sudden. Also Feral Tribune waked me up this moment, two journalist of the paper, from which people in Osijek seems to be afraid of been seen with it, knocked on our offices door. One of them Venezia I know since I am here, he is member from Lex and ARK and wrote a lot for ARKzin in the past. Like more of Vesna's journalist he started to work for Feral as well. So this days we have 50% of the free media in Pakrac, both making a long story about the volunteers. I think that our officials had a hard time, first the free and other media from Serbia and within a week the ones from Croatia. During what I said it is hard to remember that this two magazines are published in Croatia, suddenly all the publicity is coming very nearby. And both journalists (Zoran and Venezia) had a lot of inside information about the project, since they are ARK activists. Some people would be paranoid and actuality the question is if a project like Pakrac should be done in secret or open in the publicity with almost everything and every one involved mentioned. My idea, and there for I am writing an open diary, which is also read by all kind of people is that publicity helps to realise our aims and is also a good protection, since more and more people around the World are getting involved and know a bit what is going on. Of course it slowly destroys your private life and more and more I have the feeling how will I get out of this publicity and how I can stop my diary when this whole thing is over. Thanks to Email I am hearing things which happened around the World and which we lost in this whirlpool from media and changing situations. The Olympic games started last weekend in Lillehamer and during the opening they remembered Sarajevo '84 and it seems that the plea that the weapons should stop. I am not so into winter games, although walking up the mountain to the Serbian Krajina part of Pakrac yesterday in a kind of snow storm would have at least be a medal, but they don't have this discipline on this games yet. For the rest as good Dutch man I like watching speed skating when my country men are winning, for the rest they can jump and ski, the shooting part I have seen to often here. Just before going back to Zagreb (I need some days rest and time for writing) I went with Martin from the Austrians, Fabrice from UNHCR and his replacement to see the mayor on the "other side". After some searching we found him in his house. When we came in the hot living room Fabrice saw one of the results of Manfred's first money generating programme for which Fabrice has provided the money. It is a project of 2000 little chicken on each side ten persons has got 100 of them to rise them. Fabrice wondered a bit what "his" chickens were doing in the house of the mayor. But it was not the man but the woman in the house who applied for the programme and more over the mayor is also not paid for a long time. We had a nice talk, with rakija of course, about Fabrice new assignment in Pakistan, just today it became known that Pakistan offered 2000 new soldiers UNPROFOR by the way and the mayor joked that Fabrice is going from bad to worst. He also said that he hoped that Fabrice would come back after 2 years on which Fabrice said that he hoped to come back as tourists, since if he comes in function it meant bad news. The mayor reacted that he wasn't that positive that in two years no help from UNHCR in this region was needed, but that he also hoped that Fabrice could come as tourist. The blanket on the table around which we were sitting by the way had to hole, which were repaired with UNPROFOR badges (those badges which UNPROFOR soldiers wear on their uniforms and on the caps), very protective. We came on the topic from Dzakula of course and they told that Milosevic had said some days before that Dzakula no longer is on the ground from the Republic of Serbia and that is probably back in his jail in Glina. But if they could trust Milosevic, who knows. An other person in the rooms said that Dzakula was so well threaded during his "arrest" that they have to keep him out of side for at least the coming three weeks before he looks a bit like himself again. After that I had to hurry to catch the evening train to Zagreb together with the two feral reporters, but it was 45 minutes late, like some days before when we were waiting in Daruvar to go back to Pakrac. In the train we talked a lot about the last 2 years and what happened. The photo journalist was surprised about what I know about the situation in this area. And all in all we were sooner back in Zagreb than we realised, here it is not so cold as in Pakrac and just like last time I really had the feeling of coming back in the some how "normal" world....
