Maybe they didn't found an USAmerican spy so fast or they didn't dare to really go openly in the battle, but the game seems to have started. A part of that game is of course the fact that at this moment in Washington the representatives from Croatian government are having talk with representatives from BiH (Sarajevo) government and their main opponent, Karadzic, leader of the Bosnian Serbs is in Moscow to have talks there with the Russian leaders. For the biggest period of the war(s) in this region the (former) super powers stayed out of the conflict, their only involvement were political statements and some discussions in the security council, but now they seems to have taken over the total front- line of the political fights and talks of the war (leaving the EC and even the UN standing at the sideline). But more surprising is an other change of policy. In my diary I have been writing it at least a dozen or more times and in interviews I always say it, just a month ago I gave a nice interview for a Dutch journalist, which I read yesterday in a Dutch alternative newspaper, but also in the ARKzin interview I stressed it again. On questions if I am agree with military interventions or economical sanctions I always react the same, I am, even after two years I am still convinced that sanctions, military or economical are not the way to solve the problems. Especially on the topic if an economical boycott towards Croatia would change the politics of Croatia in BiH I am saying that. Basically my idea is that you have to restore the economy, literally if the world bank and the IMF (even the EC, with their Phare programme) would have refused their loans and donations towards this area all of what has happened maybe wouldn't have be taken place. So what I am saying is that the rest of the world rather should invest in the economies of this countries instead of the destruction of it by military intervention or economical boycotts. Till my big surprise I found out in the last days that I am not the only fool who believes in that way. To be honest already months ago I read article from people who promoted more or less that you can buy the war away. But this ideas, which were often seen as rather weird and coming from unrealistic idealists have now reached a broader audience, broader group of promoters and not in the political low level circles in which I normally go around. Last week more International politicians started to promote a simular idea, lift the Phare embargo towards former Yugoslavian countries and start with giving out loans from World Bank and IMF, especially towards Croatia in the hope that that will be a way to put pressure on the Croatian government to change their policy towards BiH and the activities of regular Croatian army there, but also that Croatian government will put pressure on the HVO leaders to stop their hostilities towards BiHarmija controlled areas. After me mentioning the Maglaj area problems two days ago, Zoran again reacted that this is one of those areas from which it is a public secret that there was some kind of co-operation between HVO and the Bosnian Serbian army against the BiHarmija. Izetbegovic even said some days ago that the situation in this area was so critical that if not soon something would change this area, now still controlled by BiHarmija would be under other control soon. The stories about co- operations between HVO and the Bosnian Serbian Army, who were rather strong in the summer of last year (f.e. that Bosnian Serbian Army has given tanks to HVO near Kiseljak) are by the way getting less and less, I haven't heard those rumours anymore for a long time. Positive news about the Tuzla area. It seems that Karadzic in Moscow has agreed today that the airport can be opened, under the condition that like in Sarajevo at least 50 Russian UNPROFOR soldiers would be included in the UN peace-keeping force who control the incoming humanitarian aid flights. Up to now he kept on saying that he never would allowed the airport to be opened since he believed that via that way the defenders of Tuzla would be supplied with arms. In Moscow he suddenly came to another conclusion it seems. Day after day we get suddenly confronted with new peace and cease fire agreements from which we have been dreaming some times for nearly two years. The above one is an example of it, but the sudden change goes on, now we got the news from the states that a break through was established in the relations between Croats and Muslims. Late in the night there was an announcement on Croatian television that we would get a live report of the signing of the agreement between Croatian and BiH (Sarajevo) government in Washington, unfortunately CNN seems to start his broadcasting of this event to late or something so we haven't seen it.
