Which is still look at the map not much more than 150 Km away from us. When Thursday was announced that there was a kind cease fire signed the last two days I had that feeling that the fights would slowly burn out. But forget it, it was first my mother who full of worries in her voice phoned me to find out how the situation was. She used heard on her news that Dutch soldiers where taken hostages in the neighbourhood of Gorazde (which is a lot more kilometres away) by Bosnian Serb army (BSA). Also UK and still rumours about Canadian UN soldiers seems to be taken by BSA, altogether almost 150 men. The president of the Bihac town council, Mr. Handija Babiljagic, who was live, by radio link connected with the news studio in Zagreb (a voice in between a lot noise and with a lot of echo, so it hard to understand, even when you speak the languages) described the situation inside Bihac as next to the end, no water, no electricity, no reserve food, no medicines and so on. And that after all the things which already happened in the Bihac pocket. Cazin another town in that region was in 1992 for over 200 days totally isolated from the rest of the world. And I remember more of those screaming appeals from towns and villages in that area in that period. According to the reports BSA is already in the southern part of the town Bihac and have been destroying all the villages south of it, in order to make impossible for their former inhabitants (mostly Muslims) to return. Serbian fighters from the UNPA's in Croatia seems to be also openly involved in the fights. The last ones seems to be not any longer in the UNPA's though but already fighting within what should suppose to be the safe area. The reactions from the security council on the ongoing fights came also today, they decided to ask the BSA troops to withdraw from the Bihac area, the safe heaven zone, in order for UN to take over control. I don't have to write the comment of most people on this strong reaction. Maybe due to UN hostages but UN forces in BiH haven't asked for new NATO airsupport since Wednesday. General Ross described the situation in Bihac very simple. BSA can do what ever they want in that area and we are as UNPROFOR not strong enough, neither do we have the mandate to stop them with force. A SKY of CNN reporter even described it more desperate, all the attempts to get to a kind of cease fire are totally out of the picture. he prime minister of BiH accused UNPROFOR and the UN to have made a total mess out the situation in the Bihac pocket and made absolute clear that they are totally disagree with the line of UNPROFOR not to ask NATO for any further involvement. Karadzic and later Milosevic have offered also today a total cease fire agreement, or rather total peace plan as they call it, for the whole of the BiH region. In this offer they made also absolute clear that situation should be as it is now. If BiH government will agree with this offer, or even take it serious is not really an open question. At least I can't imagine that suddenly they give up on 70% of the country. Valentic, which didn't join Tudjman and Granic in Chile, but jumped up and down to Vienna to give an Austrian a Croatian medal for all he done for Croatia, said that he was afraid to come up with this alternative, since it means again total war, but that Croatia is ready when no other political solution can be found that since the Bihac pocket is very important for Croatia to come with another solution and we all can imagine what that means. In less than 14 days after the sudden "success" of BiHarmija and HVO in Kupres and remarks that now BiHarmija is strong enough the situation has been totally changed into such crisis situation which we haven't had for some time in this area. On the other channel of Croatia television a clip of Roger Glover is been broadcasted and his famous hit from somewhere in the 70'ties. "All you need is love and understand", "Let the people know and we are celebrating". During the evening I also watch some fighting in the street in front of my house, as announced the football match between Hajduk Split and Croatia (former Dynamo Zagreb) in the stadium bout 700 meters from here wasn't particular a manifestation of peace and brotherhood. In my street it was a small fight, between about 10 special police with helmets and shield against twenty or more Torcidas or Bad Bleu Boys, which of the two fanclubs I couldn't see so fast. During the afternoon I already heard that the BBB planned to organise all over the town small fights with the police to create some chaos in the town. It is part of their private war against the board of the Croatian football club and their honoured chairman (Tudjman), they still are disagree with the name "Croatia" given to the club they have brought up with "Dynamo". Rumours go through the city the last hours that during the match a Hajduk fan is beaten to dead, not by the police by the way. But as said it is a rumour, the news didn't reported more than the 1-0 victory of Croatia.
